AL AA’LA (THE SUPREME)
(Revealed at Mecca - contains 19
verses - 1 section)
Allah – beginning with the name of –
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
|
AYAT |
TRANSLATION |
|
1 |
سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى |
|
Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. |
|
|
2 |
الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ |
|
The One Who created, and then made proper. |
|
|
3 |
وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ |
|
And the One Who kept proper measure and then guided. |
|
|
4 |
وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَىٰ |
|
The One Who produced pasture. |
|
|
5 |
فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَىٰ |
|
Then made it dry and dark. |
|
|
6 |
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰ |
|
We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. |
|
|
7 |
إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ |
|
Except what Allah wills; indeed He knows all the evident and all the concealed. |
|
|
8 |
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ |
|
And We shall create the means of ease for you. |
|
|
9 |
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَىٰ |
|
Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. |
|
|
10 |
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ |
|
Soon whoever fears will heed advice. |
|
|
11 |
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى |
|
And the most wicked will stay away from it. |
|
|
12 |
الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَىٰ |
|
The one who will enter the biggest fire. |
|
|
13 |
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ |
|
Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. |
|
|
14 |
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ |
|
Indeed successful is the one who became pure. |
|
|
15 |
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ |
|
And who mentioned the name of his Lord, then offered prayer. |
|
|
16 |
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا |
|
But rather you prefer the life of this world! |
|
|
17 |
وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ |
|
Whereas the Hereafter is better and everlasting. |
|
|
18 |
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ |
|
Indeed this is in the former scriptures. |
|
|
19 |
صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ |
|
In the Books of Ibrahim and Moosa. |
